Orlando Strong

The news from Orlando that particular Sunday morning was a very morbid weekend for our nation. The deadliest mass shooting in our nation’s history had taken place at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. We here are all shocked and saddened and send our condolences to all the people affected by the shooting. Although this was a display of evil, prejudice, hate, and an act of terrorism, we as a nation must show our strength by standing firm together, unwavering, and supporting each other and against all forms of hatred and terrorism.

We are proud to be Americans and enjoy our freedoms and liberties and we stand with the LGBT community with our support. We believe that each individual has every right to be true to themselves whether it is race, religion, or sexual orientation. We encourage people not to be afraid of being different but instead, to be unique.

We truly hope a positive outcome will result in light of this horrific tragedy. Regardless of what views we each may have, the best way to flight hate is not with more hate, but to unite and show love. NYC Pride 2016 just had its largest turnout ever with people of all walks of life showing their support, celebrating, and remembering. With the Stonewall Inn recently designated as the nation’s first LGBT National Monument, we hope this nation can continue to march toward gender equality and pave a new colorful history. Love is love, is love, is love…
